Brother Adam

Protestants say that the flesh profits nothing, therefore Jesus must have spoken spiritually when he said "You must eat my flesh and drink my blood"

[quote name='cathgirl' date='Jul 4 2005, 05:21 PM']I guess I will suggest a book to you.  The book "Rome Sweet Home" by Scott Hahn is very good.  It tells about his family's journey to the Catholic Church.

I agree... I just read it myself and as someone who is considering conversion also, it helped A LOT. God bless. <3

hehe. If you haven't read "Hail, Holy Queen" that just takes care of about any problems a person might have with Mary and "The Lamb's Supper" shows how the mass is as about as biblical of a worship service as you can ever have.

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus

ohhhhhhh i get it thanks adam .

i found this too

64 "The flesh profiteth nothing"... Dead flesh separated from the spirit, in the gross manner they supposed they were to eat his flesh, would profit nothing. Neither doth man's flesh, that is to say, man's natural and carnal apprehension, (which refuses to be subject to the spirit, and words of Christ,) profit any thing. But it would be the height of blasphemy, to say the living flesh of Christ (which we receive in the blessed sacarament, with his spirit, that is, with his soul and divinity) profiteth nothing. For if Christ's flesh had profited us nothing, he would never have taken flesh for us, nor died in the flesh for us.

Tommy,

Quick question. Do you understand that the rosary is actually about Jesus? Have you tried explaining this to your wife?

Brother Adam

The Rosary is a Christ centric devotion through the Mother of God. That is, while the person saying the Rosary is asking Mary for prayer during part of it, the entire rosary is focused on Christ. It is an ancient and formal prayer that draws one into an even more intimate relationship with the Lord through Mary.
Prayers of the Rosary

Prayer Before The Rosary

Queen of the Holy Rosary, you have designed to come to Fatima and Medjugorje, to reveal to the three shepherd children and six visionaries, the treasures of grace hidden in the Rosary. Inspire my heart with a sincere love of this devotion, in order that by meditating on the Mysteries of our Redemption which are recalled in it, I may obtain peace for the world, the conversion of sinners, and the favor which I ask of you in this Rosary (Mention your request). I ask it for the greater glory of God, for your own honor, and for the good of souls, especially for my own. Amen.

The Our Father:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary:

Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Prayer to Jesus Requested By Our Lady

O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, take all souls to Heaven, and help especially those most in need of Your mercy.

The Apostles' Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, Our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Hail Holy Queen:

Hail! Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto is the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement! O loving! O sweet Virgin Mary!

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayer After The Rosary

O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech Thee, that, meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Yes I do! I was given one by the person who really introduced me to the Catholic Church. Thank you for asking though! ^_^

I've still yet to use it though... -_-
Is there a good site or something where I can learn? Cuz I am clueless...

Brother Adam

Yes, get the Virtual Rosary from the Internet. It takes you through the rosary step by step and gives you scripture verses for every prayer on the whole rosary.
