Hey has anyone checked out the nebraska carmel? They have latin mass and they just built a new monastery a couple of years ago. It seems like vocations are following into that place. Its a very beautiful place if anyone wants to check out some pictures of the carmel here is the website.

those pictures are wonderful! Anyone know of the closest Carmel to the Chicagoland area? I just want to make a short visit one day, even though I am pretty sure that I am meant to be a Franciscan...

hey missy I am just wondering what attracts you to the Carmelites of the most sacred heart? Is it something about its charism or work?

Also does anyone know about a letter of good health? Carmel requires that you have that inorder to enter but most people dont have the foggiest clue what it is. I dont know if it involves a physical, blood work etc. Any Insight would be much appreciated!

Also today is St. Teresa of Avila's feast day! Reformer of the Carmelite Order!

I didn't apply to Carmel, but most orders make you get a physical and dental exam as part of apply/asking to enter. My order gave me forms for the physical

Has anyone looked into the Discalced Carmelites in Denmark, Wisconsin. They look like a very orthodox community- they still wear the original habit, have very strict enclosure, etc. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about them. They do not have a website, but I've been in contact though mail. Anyone else contacted them?
