Let me just put it this way....I used to be the geek in school that absolutely loved with a passion every book I read in Honors/AP English all through highschool. Then I got to college and they make me read Beloved. I threw it across the room after page 50, thought about ripping it up, and read the sparknotes on it for the first time in my life. That is how I feel about Toni Morrison. It has to be the first book that I couldn't stand reading. It was way too painful for me. I don't know why, because I've loved stranger things.
