Laudate_Dominum
There are a number of schools that have canon law programs. I suppose the requirements for each program may be slightly different, but in general you would probably be required to have an undergraduate degree in some related discipline (such as theology). The minimum requirement for being able to practice as a canon lawyer is to obtain your Licentiate in Canon Law. From what I know, this can be done in a two or three year program. The highest level would be that of Juris Canonici Doctor, which is essentially a doctorate in canon law. In North America I'm sure there are a number of options for where one might study canon law. I am aware of three schools that have programs: Duquesne University in Pittsburgh Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Ontario Catholic University of America I have also heard of the program at Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, and there are probably a number of Pontifical Universities in Rome and in other places which have good programs. I'm sure Cam and perhaps others might like to add to this, but in any case I hope this helps. God bless you sir.

It wasn't coming up for me. (otherwise known as the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross) And in the meantime I would say try picking up some books on canon law. Certainly the code itself and the big commentary would be essential. It might be interesting to scoop up the code of canon law for the Eastern Churches as well. I am sure you will study this code as well if you end up going to school in this field.
Theoketos
To add to what L_D who humbles me said. Learn Latin, then pick of a Code in Latin and English and then a Commentary. The American Commentary on Canon is not any good, you have to get the Canadian, which a translation of the French commentary. Just an insiders tip.
