they seem to always use that when they're trying to preach that Drinking/Smoking/eating too much/eating unhealthy(junk foods) is a sin

i'm kinda confused.

i understand that the Lord is within the hearts of the faithful.

John 15:23
Whever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.

Brother Adam

The catechism talks about how God became man so that we might become God. When we consume the Eucharist, Jesus Christ in a way is living in us, and we are dying to ourselves, our fleshly sinful selves. Mary is Theokotos, yet, when we are baptized, and when we consume the Eucharist, Christ Himself, we become God-bearers.

We should take reasonable care of our bodies. Gluttony is certianly a sin. Drinking can be a sin if someone drinks to the point of getting drunk. Casual drinking does not harm the body, and a glass of red wine even helps the heart and other bodily functions, it is good for you. Smoking can be sinful, and I really don't believe Catholics should smoke, however the occassional cigar, pipe will not harm you. Eating unhealthy foods can be a sin if you are digging into them too much and not taking care of yourself.

Am I answering the question? Or am I off base?

Yes, typologically she is the ark of the New Covenant, Jesus. She is also the New Eve.
