Soon to be a Death in the Family: Update

Bessie died yesterday.

We didn't make it to the vet's office in time. When we were walking back the nurse let us know that she had passed but was still there if we wanted to see her. She let us know we could spend as much time with her as we wanted. We stayed for about 20 minutes and then got out of the way since they were to close shortly.

My sister was the most vocal in her suffering and my brother the most quiet. He put on a tough outer shell for his two sisters but anyone who knows him well knows he is really hurting. He worries me the most because he doesn't really have much of an outlet for all of this.

I am still grieving and I'm sure we all will be for a time. While the family was gone today I cleared away her bowls, her food, her heartworm medication, pillow, bed, etc... I'm hoping that by removing these items there will be fewer obvious reminders of her death.

Please continue to keep our family in your prayers as we were very attached to our beloved Bessie.

St Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
