They dont want to. They are moving on and not like slayer who tried to stay the same and have basically every song stay the same. It wouldnt matter if they released Master of puppets II, people would still complain! Here are their two new songs played over the summer:

People desribe is as "st. justice"

If you want some old school metallica, this is it, nothing closer to kill em all than this.

New Album should be out in 2007. It will rock \m/

the first one was lame. I liked the second one, but his voice is kinda hard to take in that particular video. I would have really like to hear that 10-15 years ago with a younger hetfield

Soul Embraced is back, I thought they were done, but a new lineup has been announced on their Myspace page, with definite plans for a new album. Rocky, Chad and Lance are back with the addition of Jack Wiese on guitar and Jeff Bowie on bass.
M.P.- In one of the interviews after the release of 'Immune', you said something about releasing two to three more albums, is that something that you and the other guys are still considering or have you decided to part ways?

Rocky- There will be another album. I will continue to play guitar for the band and Chad Moore will continue as vocalist. We are not sure at this time whether Lance Garvin will be able to do it yet or not. We would love to have him on board but we all have different schedules so we'll have to see. we are not exactly sure when we can do the record, we just know that we will do one. We will have a new website and more info soon."

M.P.- Is there anything you'd like to tell the fans?

Rocky-To all the fans-Thanks for keeping us alive, we love y'all!
God bless,
Rock

Not bad - definitely no where near the level of Puppets, but better than "St. Anger" (haven't actually heard that album, but I wasn't very impressed with the couple songs I heard on the radio.)

The "other song" was kind of fun, but sounded more punk than metal.

I think the classically-trained Cliff Burton was responsible for much of Metallica's early greatness. Musically, "Orion" was the band's peak in my opinion.

It does seem Metallica has long passed their peak.

argg, ive had enough of herman li's "million sper NES's being played at once" tone. but for good, more tasteful power metal, try out stratovarius.

marty friedmans stuff is very unlike his work with megadeth (love them bot to bits) very much solo virtuoso style (like steve vai and joe satriani) but much more metal-like. and as for megdeth itslef i find its a lot like metallica with a better singer(he grows on you), a much more talented lead guitarist and more groovy riffs. not that i dont like metallica, at least the early ones, but megadeth is so much better.

and for a truly amazing guitar solo check this one out, floods by pantera, practically screaming with emotion and skill

I should check out those guys. I recently discovered Joe Satriani, and became a pretty big fan. He's simply an incredible guitarist. HOwever, he can get a little boring - almost muzak-like in some songs. Something similar, but a bit heavier sounds cool. I don't like Steve Vai so much though - he lacks Satch's musical sense.

Most of this whole Korea concert seems to be on youtube. Yall should check out 'Nothing Else Matters' when they did it there. Hetfield looks awesome during the solo.
