Do I expect him to understand what I am feeling? NO! The last thing I ever would want to do, is HURT my son!! He accepts the kind of job I have now..I am a Security Officer. I think Ultimately..he would adjust (Like most parents..when their off-spring are called to the religious life!!) if I were to become a religious. (it's not unheard of..many Nuns have children and even grandchildren) Also visa versa! If my son wanted to enter the seminary, I wouldn't feel NEGATIVE about it in the least bit. (I might be a tad sad about the prospect of not having any grandchild to spoil) .

I know several women who have entered religious life after their spouses died and their children were grown. One is a teacher and has two adorable grandbabies (all of the retired sisters love to spoil them!) and the other is in formation with the order I am discerning with.

I will share the one I am not discerning with, but if anyone is absolutely dying to know which community that is, you may PM me and I can give you the info of the Vocation Directress.

The order that I work with, the Congregation of Saint Joseph, is the one that has the grandmother. She's a great teacher and her grandbabies don't know what to do with all the extra love they get from the sisters!

Scroll down a bit to get to them. They've chosen a very pale font color so it can be difficult to see the numbers of the pages against the background.

There are 5 postulants. In the last group photo, taken in 2010 or 2011, there were two [both of whom, I believe, have become novices since] so it appears they are getting vocations. From a purely esthetic point of view, I like them very much.

I presume they use the Liturgy of the Hours and EF in Latin? They appear to be very traditional.
Perhaps Oiboyz could tell us a bit about the community and horarium, etc. The site does not seem to have any real information beyond stating they are a non-cloistered contemplative community and that their charism [or part of it anyway] will be in doing the fine embroidery for vestments, etc.

Well, they are the sisters of the Institute Christ the King Sovereign Priest, how can they not be traditional?

So they have EF and pray the Divine Office in the traditional form.
