Africa has more problems then America has money to fix.

Oh yeah, we don't have any money, we are in debt up to our eyeballs

Good call Dairygirl
we have 120 trillion in assets. most of the debt we do have, we owe to ourself. our problems aren't that big.
people are dying. the point is we can do something. maybe "eradicated" is too big of a goal, i don't know.

the rationalizations in this thread are astounding.

you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

and you claim to promote the culture of life...
african poverty has the chance to be eradicated. this is something that is too difficult for charity alone to do, ie, it's an exigant circumstance.
Oh pulease... foreign aide is one of the biggest scams on the planet. Most third-world countries are lead by greedy, theiving kleptocrats who couldn't care less if their people are starving to death. All foreign aide does is encourage corrupt leaders to take power so the west can fill up their Swiss bank accounts. Billions upon billions have been spent in government aide and what has been the result? Nothing.

The way to end poverty in the world is through private charities who actually monitor where their contributions go.
