My point is it's fallacious to suggest the majority of woman (i.e. > 50%) who have abortions will become clinically depressed, drug addicts, alcoholics or commit suicide, as did the original girl. I'm aware abortion can lead to these things, but to imply it affects all, or even the majority of women is a gross generalisation.

Like so many of you, my heart breaks at the thought that young girl with such serious problems would be abused and put in such a situation.

I, too, pray for the child, the child mother and the abuser. May Our Lady protect them all, and may the abuser be brought to justice so he can never inflict such terror on another.

I don't know if the girl was abused or not...but if she has the mind of a six year old...then she very well could have been. And couldn't be considered that she IS being abused if she is being used as a pawn? By that I mean, the court was told it was HER decision when in fact it cannot be. Six year olds do not...CANNOT make decisions like choosing an abortion. They can barely tie their shoes and write their name. If this girl has the mind of a six year old then it is pretty safe to say that she cannot make such a decision. Yet the court was told it was her decision.

I used the word "abused" rather than the more vile word "rape." Any minor who has been impregnated was raped. Especially one that is a special needs child with some kind of mental impairment.

Thank you for your correction, for indeed, this poor child was raped and let us continue to pray for her, her innocent child and the rapist. May his soul be saved through the Mercy of Christ Jesus and may he be forever stopped from harming another.

No matter what her emotional age may be, a 12 year old can not legally consent to sex in any state that I know of. That makes it statutory rape. I also used the word abused because I don't like that other word either.
