Victims Of Ike

While my situation certainly smells of elderberries, there are many who face greater challenges than I.

I have a place to stay with people that love me.
Some are still in shelters or sleeping in their vehicles.

My building wasn't destroyed (at least we don't think so... still waiting on an official inspection), and my flood insurance will pay for repairs.
Some have nothing to repair or no way to pay.

I know God loves me and that I am not alone.
Some have yet to open their hearts to His infinite love.

My job continues to pay my normal salary through this crisis.
Some have lost employment as a result of Ike.


Let's also add a prayer of thanksgiving for those who have volunteered their time and talent to help the victims - especially the ad hoc demolition crew that helped me rip out flood water soaked drywall.
