CatholicCid
It also has to be taken into account the randomness factor of abortion. It's not like a yearly procedure everyone has to do. Perhaps less people wanted, maybe the birth rates were lower, pre-birth care improved, contraceptions more effective, ect... Many differing variabilities to keep in consideration. Aloysius
According to the CDC, there were 1,429,427 abortions in 1990 and 857,475 in 2000. that is 571,952 less abortions in the US from 1990-2000 839,226 abortions were performed in 2004. so, from 2000-2004, we saw a drop of 18,249.
*----------------------------------------------------- -*---------------------------------------------------- --*--------------------------------------------------- ---*-------------------------------------------------- -----*------------------------------------------------ -------*---------------------------------------------- ----------*------------------------------------------- --------------*--------------------------------------- --------------------*--------------------------------- ---------------------------*-------*--------*------*- to be expected in the decline of ANY statistic, it will slow down its decline as it gets lower. that's why most graphs like that will become a curve (see above ^)
Paddington
Pro-life education has gone strong all along educating people (especially youth) on the medical facts of abortion. Also....lots of women with their tubes tied these days.

CatherineM
Is it possible that the lower fertility rates have also contributed?
