Adrestia
I cannot believe that our "Republican" government is bailing out these irresponsible financial institutions over and over again! When did we become a communist state? At least real socialists would be bailing out the little guys along with their rich friends. If Canada wasn't so cold I would seriously consider moving. And what's with the stock market? It's not too bad for me. Right now I can get mutual funds at a 30% discount! But my parents were thinking about retiring in the near future. Feel sorry for those near 60 years old right now. Edited October 10, 2008 by tgoldson
Lil Red
+J.M.J.+ what ticks me off is that if they were gonna do the bailout, then they should ask for all the money back that people made illegally/irresponsibly - those people are getting off scott-free. Adrestia
and I do not like the idea of allowing some people to negotiate new mortgages at a lower home value! that's just crazy. I actually believe that Whoopi Goldberg's idea is the most fair... if we're going to do it for some, do it for all. She proposed an across the board 25% forgiveness for all home loans taken out between 2003 and now. That way people like me - who scrimp and save and go without in order to pay their bills on time - are not punished for being financially responsible.
