Spamity Calamity

I know. I know. Ive been telling everyone I can why Mr. Obama in the white house with Pelosi in the Senate would be a horrible, horrible thing. Nobody is hearing me. I would be willing to bet that the American electorate is more uninformed and ignorant today than we were a century ago. Its like everyone is in a daze and can only bleet "change". Gah, Im depressed. Im gonna go.

Pelosi is in the House. I actually believe in checks and balances, and a super majority isn't really good no matter which party has it.

The last line of the article speaks volumes.
Americans voting for "change" should know they may get far more than they ever imagined.
If the Liberals get their SUPREME POWER with Obama at the helm of a filibuster-proof Congress...it will be VERY interesting to watch the CHANGE we get.

History has already told us the harm of socialism. Now it looks like America will be looking to add to historic examples of the evils of socialism.

Thinking of this reminds me of the movie Patton where a soldier is told that George S. Patton will be the new commanding officer and he responds - "God help us."

If Obama wins, and the Democrats lock down Congress, and load the bench with liberals...

...just remember that socialism has never worked in America and the American people will not pay for all the CHANGE Obama wants to bring.
Supermajorities are extremely rare in American politics, and I doubt come Nov 4 there's going to be any rarities.
What about his "change" everyone's talking about?

Um yeah...because making a Democratic Congress with an even lower approval rating than Bush's even more Democratic is going create "change" how?

On a positive note ...
- Special-interest potpourri. Look for the watering down of No Child Left Behind testing standards, as a favor to the National Education Association.
NCLB (whcich is indeed a crock of elderberries) doesn't need to be watered down. It needs to be reformed, and with teacher input outside of the NEA. But I really doubt education will be on the agenda in the next 2 years.
Oh gost, now I'm being a real negative Nellie. Let's all hope that mess gets straightened out.

If there was something I was going to pray about, I would be praying for Education. Our system right now kills me. I see it's fruits every day with the kids I work with.

It was outcome based education that really threw me. That had to be the idea of someone trying desperately to come up with an idea for their grad thesis.

Why is it half of Drudge Report always pops up on Phatmass? Why do I still go to Drudge? [/end rhetorical questions]

The NEA doesn't have much say; after all the last Secretary of Education before this one likened them to a "band of terrorists"...

Anyhow there will be no supermajority. Parties change when the economy is in the rough, so most of the Democrats should be fearing for their seats right now compared to Republicans. If there's a role reversal then Republicans will be dominant in the legislative branch, even if Obama becomes President.

Supermajorities are bad anyhow; after all look at the last time we had one with the Republicans. Two wars totalling near a trillion dollars, massive government expansion (opposed to Republican ideals), and the household use of the phrase "If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to hide".
