With police on alert, election year inspired vandalism, and now this, are we becoming a third world country? How sad.

Well, Obama did order his followers to "get in their face." They literally did. Will voters and the press hold him accountable for his words? Voters, maybe. Press, ya, right.

Now let me put my leftist conspiracy glasses on: How long before the democrats claim it was all a setup by the republicans?

I only posted this because it may likely be ignored by most major news outlets. If it isn't I'm sure you'll let me know. :topsy:

That reminds me of CNN the other day. McCain supporters were putting down a man preaching Obama as a Secret Closet Muslim Communist...but they did it verbally. If this event in this thread were the Obama campaign's fault, then I wonder who would have been in the right in the McCain campaign event; the man preaching evil or the McCain supporters stressing tolerance?

It's always been dangerous to support candidates. The lesson is that the left is not some bastion of peace and openmindedness. We should have learned this from Nazism, Stalinism, Leninism, Maoism, the Shining Path, numerous communist and socialist movements in South America and the Teletubbies, but we haven't.

Given how the press held the McCain campaign's feet to the fire over fictitious characters yelling "kill him" at McCain rallies, I don't see anything wrong using their own standards to hold the Obama campaign's feet to the fire. I anxiously await the press' upcoming headlines "Obama Supporters Show Their Hate" or "Obama Calls For Arrest of Obama Supporter. Criminal At Large." Those headlines are not too far off from the press' recent attacks on McCain supporters.

Just a note the Secret Service said their was no proof that anyone yelled out "kill him"
Least that's what I remember reading.

Still the press did use this 'unfounded' scream to bash McCain... and I dont recall much attention by the Talking Heads about the correction.

People have been attacked by McCain supports. Those have not been highlighted on the mainstream press for the same reason these have not. They are unimportant and not directly related to the campaign. On the other hand when Palin claims Obama "pals around with terrorists" because he thinks America is so "imperfect" and the crowed starts screaming of Obama "Terrorist!", "Kill him", "Traitor" that becomes a story because the campaign is fueling the hatred and ignorance that motivates wuch outbursts. When a Palin supported hit a MSNBC technitian in the head with a rock it was not a big story because it really had nohing to do with McCain and he was in no was responsible for it.

Also it is always a story when a politician is booed by his supporters. As McCain was when he said his audience did not need to "fear" Obama.

If Obama or Biden started implying that McCain supported implying that McCain was responsible for some of the war crimes involved with Iraq or the larger "war on terror" and his supporters started screaming things like, "Hang the war criminal" then you would have a legitimate comparison and Obama should be held responsible for that.

You can hear the individual screaming "Kill Him"

Also the srticle mentiones the Obama campaign did respond

""Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

Apparently the attacked was robbing the woman and then decided to attack her. Hopefully he will be caught
