McCain is irrelevant. I didn't vote for him.

Not to say I'm happy about it, but the reality of the situation is that no one is going to get elected in the foreseeable future unless they're either a Democrat or a Republican nominee.

Question: Is the post quoted above an argument or is it simply a comment? I just want to make sure I know when you are actually formulating an argument.

As a Catholic, this will be a very trying time. Reports this am is the president-elect is looking to overturn over 200 of President Bush's executive orders which include embryonic stem cell research.

As a citizen, we are facing the "fairness" doctrine to be re-established, silencing the conservative airwaves. No endorsement from the president-elect to use a missile defense in Poland, thus allowing Russia to continue their aggression.

As a business owner, I will be facing to lay off employees as a doubling in Fed taxes will hurt us as well as the proposed 100% healthcare coverage.

The president-elect has no track record of economics, national security or of upholding what is at the core of Christian belief, so to say that he is better for this position than McCain, I would completely disagree.

McCain would have supported and/ or continued the battle to life through appointments to the courts. Would not even come close to the FOCA signing.

He would have upheld our defense and a man with a military background would have ensured these wars would end in victory and our newer enemies (Putin) would have begun to back off. I also fear that Israel will feel the need to take it upon themselves to protect themselves, which would not have happened under a McCain administration.

Lastly, McCain knows the economy and would have provided businesses with tax cuts that would allow us to hire more employees.

So, those who voted for the current president-elect, against the teachings and statements of the Church, will see that we have a teacher running the country, not a leader. And for this I have great fear for my Faith, my well being and my business.

Yeah, it's not like he's admitted on multiple occasions that he simply does not understand the economy.

Oh, wait, he has. My bad.

I am not happy with the result however if McCain won the only good thing was Palin~

If McCain did win we would go back to our sheltered lives and just live our lives HOWEVER with Obama winning-Christians are realizing that "oh my goodness" "that nutcase is a socialist" "he is crossing the line we got to be more careful and turn back to God"~!\

It was self-deprecating humor and here is the full quote:

“The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should,” he says. “I’ve got Greenspan’s book.”

His plan was to lower taxes on business, we pay the 2nd highest rate of taxes in the world (Japan is first). He knew this much.

If the president-elect knew anything about the economy, you don't s.uck money out of the private sector and hand it over to the public sector.

This is where we are headed on this single issue, double the business taxes and turn these businesses into an extension of the government.

And, the election is over, but the president-elect has no experience in this arena whatsoever and will have to vet information from a ton of people, that does not make him a qualified economist and it certainly does not mean he will choose wisely.

He will come into office and do what he has read one must do, a big bang.

So, for those you that still believe the classroom works in the real world, be prepared to learn a lesson.

All the while, millions more of God's children are killed and paid for by every single US citizen.

Seriously, a vote for Obama is not a vote for abortion. Did you ever think that there may be other issues here?
If Hitler were running today and promoting the Holocaust, would you still vote for him because of all the other great things he could accomplish? I'm not sure you'd be as quick to say "A vote for Hitler is not a vote for the Holocaust," even if there are other issues.

Although, I could be wrong...

To the first comment I would argue that I'd much rather have an uninvolved President than a very pro-active President fighting for "abortion rights."

To the second, Bush actually did a lot for the pro-life cause. I have a buried thread somewhere on here, but I haven't looked for it yet.
