Obama Orders Gitmo To Close

Fidel Castro thinks so too. He is singing Obama's praises. You do realize the people at Gitmo fall into three groups -

1) The US does not intend to try them, but they cannot return home because they would be tortured and no other country is willing to accept them.
2) They are on trial for terrorist attacks against the US - killing innocent men, women, and children on US soil.
3) Detainees (criminals) that the US cannot try, but can provide information to prevent further terror attacks.

Thank you Obama for remembering the families and those who perished on 9/11.

Because God knows the only way to execute justice is to throw them in a special prison with special rules and special "tactics."

They're not citizens of this nation. They are enemies of the world, not just the US. Yeah, special tactics are in order. You think if we're nice the jihadis are going to back down? This isn't a reasonable group just looking to be left alone. They're the aggressors and they will not stop.

The difference between your thinking and the thinking of our country is that the U.S. doesn't throw out it's values just because these people are "different." They'll get what they deserve, in the end, regardless of how or where they're detained. We might as well practice what we preach.

If you spend some time researching, you'll actually find out that mutual respect, a tactic used by interrogators, has been the most effective means thus far in getting information.

Not even in office 48 hours and already looking like a fool. Good to see a few journalists ask some real questions for a change.

The "signing" was for the looney left, but now Obambi has to answer what are you going to do with them? They do not know and did so against the position of the CIA.

To bring these demons to US soil would be signing a death sentence to those in the vicinity.

The US is supposed to better than that. If we ourselves tread all over the very ideals that we claim to espouse and defend, then the Bad Guys have already won.

I haven't liked how Gitmo has been handled, but regular prison doesn't make one softer, so can you imagine what these guys are going to be like when set loose? If they didn't like the US before, how are they going to feel now. Maybe Castro will give them sanctuary. Some seriously can't go home. I hope that they send Kadhr back to Canada at least. I never liked the idea of the US holding a child soldier even when it seemed as if he had in fact committed the act he was in Gitmo for. Now that the evidence shows he was buried in rubble and unable to throw anything, let alone a hand grenade, he should be released.
