truthfinder Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 In case anyone is interested, the Carmel of St. Joseph in St. Agatha just launched a new website: [url="http://www.thecarmel.ca"]Carmel of St. Joseph[/url]. They had a very basic one for a while and finally put this one up. Very nice, actually. I may be wrong but I think they are 1990's Constitutions, founded several monasteries, and seem to have quite a few new vocations themselves. God Bless[/quote] I considered meeting them when I was discerning the Discalced Carmelites, but it was not to be, I am called elsewhere. They are beautiful! They have founded a Carmel in Armstrong, B.C. who are now building a new, proper monastery and they have 8 professed nuns. I think they too will have a growth spurt of sorts soon. God Bless[/quote] I was in contact with Reverend Mother from the Agatha Carmel and she said that they are nearly full and that is why they didn't want any older vocations - they want to save the spots for younger women. She is a very sweet woman and phoned me personally to let me know why she was not considering my application. I think this would be a good community for a younger woman who wants a Carmel to join.
