Carmel Of St. Joseph

In case anyone is interested, the Carmel of St. Joseph in St. Agatha just launched a new website:
Carmel of St. Joseph. They had a very basic one for a while and finally put this one up. Very nice, actually. I may be wrong but I think they are 1990's Constitutions, founded several monasteries, and seem to have quite a few new vocations themselves.
God Bless

I considered meeting them when I was discerning the Discalced Carmelites, but it was not to be, I am called elsewhere. They are beautiful!

Thanks for the correction. They are though more traditional than most of the French speaking Carmels in Canada. They have founded a Carmel in Armstrong, B.C. who are now building a new, proper monastery and they have 8 professed nuns. I think they too will have a growth spurt of sorts soon.
God Bless

I was in contact with Reverend Mother from the Agatha Carmel and she said that they are nearly full and that is why they didn't want any older vocations - they want to save the spots for younger women. She is a very sweet woman and phoned me personally to let me know why she was not considering my application. I think this would be a good community for a younger woman who wants a Carmel to join.

The adoration book that they have for sale here looks wonderful. I wonder how I could get one this side of the border...

I agree with nunsense, phone and maybe you'd be able to send them a money order and appropriate postage. It wouldn't be too difficult. And it would be cheaper than for us Canadians whose dollar dropped below yours. :weep:

Hmmm... I'll have to figure out how to do that (no long distance here at home). I suppose I could go get a calling card...

yes, just mail them a 15 dollar USA cheque or Postal Money order for 20 dollars Canadian funds(which is like 15 dollars US)..maybe a couple more bucks for shipping. or send them an email about which they prefer

it would certainly help support them.
