I am apparently a "radical Catholic" to some.
They say that because I do more than just go to Mass every Sunday....
Anyhoot.
My name is Kevin, I go by Dusk Man or "Dusky" for short. I lived in Louisiana all my life, and love the history, culture, and more importantly the Catholic influences in its said-history. I'm a big dork when it comes to the matter.
I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for about three years. First major: English. Didn't like it, the teachers were just all over me about Catholicism, and I didn't feel it right in my heart to stay there. I then switched to a Horticulture major, but sadly the program was closed, and I hightailed it out of there.
I joined the Marines. I got kicked out of basic training for health reasons. Enough said, it was a bad time.
Now free to do whatever with my life, I am working at a local brewery, and enjoying work for once.
In my hometown I am....
--The Cajun/Germanic dude with a hat walking the roads who likes to think of himself as a knight, but talks with the much-expected accent of those folk living in Louisiana. Don't touch my hat, it's for wearing, not touching. Yes, that's my trademark, that hat.
--The man who seems like he'd be mean and grumpy and likes sitting there alone with his beer, but get to know me: I love helping people by talking with them, and I enjoy religious, political, and art-related conversations....
--.....although I have a "temper" and will gladly get into debates over religious matters. I think Saint Louis de Montfort would be an example of what I'd do, if you remember what happened during one story about him when, during one of his homilies, a few crass individuals barged into the church and called him out...
--Currently working on getting things published and such, but that's taking a break for now until I get things financed.
--I enjoy gardening a lot. I grow tomatoes, okra, and all sorts of food-stuff. Flowers........depends.
--Get off my lawn, the gator isn't happy....nah I'm kiddin'.
I may seem like a grumpy person, but give me time: I'm a goofball.
