About Me

Quote

When we love we want to talk endlessly to the being we love, or at least look at him endlessly. This is what prayer is, familiar converse with our Beloved: We look at Him, we tell Him we love Him, we rejoice at being at His feet, we tell Him that this is where we want to live and die.

--Venerable Charles de Foucauld

Hello, I came into the Church through RCIA, Easter 2003. I've been in the long process of religious life discernment, with try-outs, for a few years now. I started discerning around 2006/2007, and I've visited many orders, including a Dominician order, a Franciscan order, the Visitation order, and a Carmelite order. I also spent about fall 2010 to fall 2011 discerning with the SsEW in Alabama.

I was discerning a Carmelite order and another order up until recently (March '12).  I continue to remain open to whatever doors the Lord may open in my future at anytime, but I am feeling like marriage is what the Lord is asking.  I'm not running out dating or anything; I'm continuing with the ministry I help, and praying for the man the Lord wants for me to come into my life someday.

I've been getting help in my discernment with a friend and we really discovered that religious life most likely wasn't a fit for me.  Also, I spoke with the last two orders.  The Carmelite order VD said that my health condition is not condusive to the life led in religious life.  The other order stopped contact months ago, and my SD believes that it's more than likely a closed door.

And, also, through all of this, I've been feeling more attracted to marriage and spousal love since last year.  It seems like a sign of where the Lord has been directing me, now that He has a willing heart.

Lord, help me to be abandoned and patient with Your will and timing. Posted Image

A devotion now very dear to me...

Through this devotion, Mother Mary promises....
6) I will visibly help them at the moment of their death, they will see the face of their Mother.
7) I have obtained (This Grace) from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors, will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son and I will be their eternal consolation and joy.

My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

The Rosary, a contemplative prayer

12. The Rosary, precisely because it starts with Mary's own experience, is an exquisitely contemplative prayer. Without this contemplative dimension, it would lose its meaning, as Pope Paul VI clearly pointed out: "Without contemplation, the Rosary is a body without a soul, and its recitation runs the risk of becoming a mechanical repetition of formulas, in violation of the admonition of Christ: 'In praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think they will be heard for their many words' (Mt 6:7). By its nature the recitation of the Rosary calls for a quiet rhythm and a lingering pace, helping the individual to meditate on the mysteries of the Lord's life as seen through the eyes of her who was closest to the Lord. In this way the unfathomable riches of these mysteries are disclosed".
