When my wife and I read Fulton Sheen's "Three to Get Married", he mentioned the Bed Blessing ritual and my wife and I decided we wanted to be in continuity with this tradition. Too many of the excellent analogies and arguments as well as Sheen's general cleverness have been obscured by the obscene loss of Catholic blessings, culture, and liturgical continuity which has occurred in the last 50yrs. It's really depressing and its about the only thing I find unpleasant in Sheen's books (or maybe I should say the unpleasantness in the modern Church that Sheen unknowingly demonstrates).
