Just wanted to start a thread specifically for "Come & See"s of various communities/Orders, that way we can have one thread to look to instead of various separate threads here and there. Please, feel free to add to this thread when you hear of "Come & See"s announced!

P.S. -- If possible, please include a link to the Order/community's website and/or some type of contact information. :D

I am not sure of what to think about the Carmelites of the Most Sacred Heart. I am in charge of two vocation corners (keeping them filled with brohures and contacts) and I thought, "Well the Carmelites in LA look cool, I'll get some brochures from them. The sisters who answeres the phone didn't even want to talk to me. She said they only really talk to people who are at least 18 on the phone, and could I get my mother to call back for me? And perhaps I would realize that they don't hand out brochures to just anyone.
Any thoughts?

This may have something to do with the Safe Environment policy in the Los Angeles Archdiocese. Each diocese has their own set of rules on what not and what to do in regards to youth - the rules, especially in LA are strict on what religious and clergy can do in regards to youth.

As for brochures for your parish - I can send some to you! I have tons!

Oh my gosh! I lost touch with Sr. Karol Marie! We were in discernment together at our parish and when she began her canonical year, we lost contact! Thank you! I'm so excited to see her name on here. Woot!

The Sister Servants of the Eternal Word don't have "Come & See" dates per se, but they are happy to have prospective vocations come visit them during one of their weekend retreats (schedule can be found here ) This works VERY well because the young woman will have complete one-on-one time with the Sisters, and, in my opinion, can get a better idea of their daily lives.

I highly recommend this community. I spent five years there, and they are a wonderful group of religious. If you have any questions about them or their way of life, please feel free to contact me!

YES - that would be fantastic; actually, I just realized that I gave all of my brochures to a priest friend who is chaplain at the Neumann Center where I live. You could write the sisters an e-mail with your parish address explaining its for the vocations board at the parish. :)

That's good. Fr would be happy for more brochures, I put a ton of DSMME and Sister Servants of Mary, FSSP, Benedictine and Carmelite Monks and other stuff on there, and it got "cleaned out"
