Thanks so much for the offer MM, but not right now. I am really bogged with school/volunteering/work ect. and one more book begging to be read just might drive me over the edge. :) Why busy life have to be so busy??? Sometimes I wish I was a Carmelite.

rotfl No no no, I will always be Franciscan. :love:

"That is why those of us who were with Francis from the beginning always started walking before we knew where we were going. We weren't journeying to find something or someone; the Lord had already found us, and we were journeying for Him, not to Him. That made all our goings free and all our comings homecomings. No matter where we went, we had already arrived before we got started." - Brother Juniper

Ridiculous and Sublime: Life in an Inner-City Franciscan Monastery {trailer}

On the Little Brothers of St. Francis.
Oooh! The Little Brothers of St. Francis are close to me too. Sometimes I see them on the subway. I could walk to their house if I really wanted to (although it'd be a long walk.)

I keep trying to get people to discern with the Jamaica Plain Poor Clares, who are right around the corner from me, but to no avail as of yet. Alas. But if anyone wanted to discern with the Little Brothers of St Francis, that'd be okay too.

Apparently I live in a hotbed of Franciscans.

I'm telling you -- if I wasn't called to a different order by God -- I would enter the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal with all the joy in my heart! I love them so very much! I was a little heartbroken when I discerned that God was calling me somewhere else, but I know that He knows better than I do what will make me truly happy. I love the CFRs so much and I refer those young women who feel called to religious life to look into them. They are amazing! :love:

Ooo!!! Ooo!!! :bounce: I am!!

I'm set to enter the Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual Adoration in September. I'm so psyched!

I'm anxious to see who else is discerning with Franciscans; it seems like most vocations (especially PMers ) nowadays go the Dominican route.

Actually, the opposite is true. The Franciscan community is the biggest Religious order in the world, with over a million people involved in it. The Dominicans are third or fourth, and aren't near as popular.
