I am going to have to start posting here as soon as I get a date pinned down - although it will probably be less than a month from now! :shocking:

I will still be on the internet, since I'm just starting prepostulancy, but it's still slightly terrifying    :twitch: but also very exciting! :nun2: :nun:  :nunpray: :yahoo: :woot:

You are discerning with the Apostles of the Sacred Heart, right? I remembered there was someone discerning with them. If not, what order are you planning to enter?

No, I'm discerning with the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. :)

That's wonderful--they seem to attract very talented women!

LOL, sorry! I got you confused with someone else. I'm happy to hear that you are so close to setting a date. With me being the new vocations supporter on the board, I will definitely keep you in my prayers!

Ahhh!!! Holy ........!!!!

Only 39 more days!!! This is so creepy!!
39 more days till I'll be in a uninform / habit for the rest of my life!!!
39 more days till I have to wake up at 5 every morning!!
39 more days till I have no Internet for three years!! <img src='http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sadder.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sadder:' />

On a slightly more positive note...
39 more days till I can go to adoration everyday!
39 more days till I can randomly climb trees and burst into song because it is a perfectly normal thing to do in a Franciscan convent. :)
39 more days till I can spend all the time i need just sitting in the chapel...
... or reading theology books...
... or playing piano...
... and not babysitting. ( though I will miss it eventually)
39 more days till I will be presented as a bride to be to the love of my life (my Love and my Life)!

anywho, that's just my little scream session for the day.
:woot:

Man, I forgot how long ago I started this thread. Feels like just yesterday. now just change all the 39s to 9s, and that is pretty accurate for my situation. Accurate for the days, maybe not so much for the feelings.

I can't imagine how many different emotions you must be feeling! Don't psych yourself out though. Remember, God is calling you with a purpose for your life and He will provide the graces necessary to live it. Just trust in Him.

I had a friend enter a convent a while back, and she was getting quite nervous towards the end of the countdown. But she remembered something that a Sister once told her:

"Once you decide to live this life, God will give you the graces in order to do it."

Jesus is the Author of Life. He has a plan for you! In only 9 days, that plan will be put into action. Like Mary, you will become the co-mediatrix of graces from our Lord, and will be praying for the world. Take her as your model and hope. Let her be your help. She will definitely pray for you and bring you peace. This picture has brought me such peace when I meditate on it:

I will definitely keep you and all those preparing to enter in my prayers when I pray the Divine Office and the Rosary. May Jesus guide your heart into the way of peace. God bless.

Thanks for the prayers!

I realized I wasn't exactly clear in my last post - I need to choose when I move there, so I will probably set the date in the next few days, and that date will probably be less than a month from now.

Wow! At least you will have more warning than one of the ladies who entered the Sisters of Life a while back! She didn't get notice of her acceptance until a WEEK before she was scheduled to enter! Imagine running about trying to buy everything you needed on your list in one week! :shocking:

Just think, you'll be there before you know it! Don't wish this time away. Savor these last few days that you have to spend with your family. You may think it doesn't matter now, but it does. Homesickness is commonplace among new postulants. There is a reason God wanted you to wait this long. I'll be praying for you! :)

thanks MM! You truly are are great cheerleader! I love the depiction of Mary as Our Lady of Grace. I have a little statue of her and I love it. I am totally taking it with me. She seems to be willing to embrace us in no matter what state we are in. She is so calm, so graceful!! So humble with the great position that God has given her. I still have a lot to learn from her. Thank you for the beautiful reminder!

I'll bet. I can't imagine how long your countdown must feel!
I had to say some hard goodbyes a couple of weeks ago when I was leaving my fam in CA. I know I won't see either of my siblings for another two years, and my dad might come to entrance but I doubt it. My sister and I were boarding out flight and I as literally sobbing. And I only see that family two or three times a year! I'm not even that close with them! But as a friend reminded me, (and as Sr Gianna Marie so eloquently stated) our family is part of the church, which is the mystical body of Christ. Everytime I see Christ, or recieve Him in the Holy Eucharist, I am even more closely united with the ones I love. I already miss them, and I still have a week left with them, but thinking of close we'll be through Christ is somewhat comforting. :console:

You're welcome. I have found Mary to be a source of great comfort in peace, especially in these last few months. I know I can turn to her and ask her for her intercession and she won't refuse me. I am actually consecrated to her under the title of Our Lady Immaculate. I did the Kolbe method of Consecration last December 8th. I am also a member of the Militia Immaculata.

I have a statue, as well, of Our Lady, Mediatrix of All Grace. It was actually the very first Catholic statue I purchased and I love it to this day. It reminds me of Mary's humility and absolute femininity. I love her so much. :)
