Did anyone see the preview for Therese on EWTN? It is coming in December and I am sooooooooooooo excited to see it. Anyone seen the movie?

I didn't know it was going to be on EWTN. But if it's the movie I'm thinking of then, yes, I saw it in theaters and I have the DVD. It's not terribly exciting and a bit confusing if you don't know the background story, but the pictures are beautiful and I liked it well enough.

I know the actress who plays Therese!! She's my home parish's youth minister's wife. And has three beautiful children!! Her mom teaches at the high school I went to, haha.

In The Arms of The Lord

I have this one on DVD, if it's the version i'm thinking of: http://www.theresemovie.com/

I also enjoyed the movie "St. Teresa of the Andes." I've watched it on YouTube. The life in the cloister that was portrayed was very realistic of how it is in Carmel; but I really only watch it to see the entrance part and the part when she is clothed in the Carmelite habit! :)

I really like this movie!! When you were sharing about your entrance ceremony and your parents dropping you off, it reminded me of this movie when her Father drops her off at the convent. :)

I thought this "Therese" movie was alright - not great and not like I thought it would be.

My favorite movie on St. Therese is the old black and white 50's movie, "Miracle of St. Therese" - available at http://www.ignatius.com/Products/MST-M/miracle-of-st-therese.aspx - with some pics from the movie.

The French actress playing Therese looks somewhat like her. I think this movie was more accurate. Given any movie making, they almost never get the movie to be the exact same as the book or the person. But at least the good ones try.

Like some of the St. Clare and St. Francis movies, while they are good and I have them on DVD, it's nuts how some of these movies have St. Clare the same age as St. Francis when he was 12 yrs older than her! But at least people are making movies on saints so I don't mind too much!

I watched a great Padre Pio movie on there, parts of Teresa of the Andes (not the whole thing, unfortunately.), Maria Goretti--if you speak italian, haha, no subtitles. It seems like there is even more than one about St. Faustina.
There are definitely some to keep you busy. :)
