St. Louis Abbey - New Novice And Professions

Luigi

Recommended Posts

St. Louis Abbey (Benedictine monks) has been growing slowly but steadily - one or two men per year for the last ten or twelve years. Most recently, they have celebrated a profession of final vows (Br. John McCusker), a profession of temporary vows (Br. Edward Mazuski), and a new novice (Br. Athanasius Soto). The community now numbers thirty monks.

Click on the What's New link to read the abbot's homily for Br. John's profession of final vows.

Thanks for posting Luigi. Lovely monastery that has great support from the surrounding community. I've met a few of the monks over the years and they are fine men. The Priory School operated here is one of the most rigorously academic boys' schools in St. Louis. Hope they continue to grow!

Now that you mentioned it, yes--the feast of St. Scholastica on the 10th--the picture is one of the more unusual icons of the saint. :nun1:
Thanks for noticing!
