What's The Most Beautiful Habit You've Ever Seen?

Are they at all affiliated with or related to the Sisters Minor of Mary Immaculate? Their habit, apostolate, and charism seem very similar.

I know two Sisters personally and they have no control over whether or not a website is created but I wish they would. I'm also currently being an "Email pal" with another Sister so I will ask her next time I write her about it. They are a beautiful Order and I wish there was more about them online. My all-time favorite is the old Maryknoll habit. Remember Bernie Becomes a Nun? My next favorite would be the Poor Clare Colletine.

I LOVE THAT ONE! If they still wore the habit, I'd enter the Maryknoll Sisters. I also love the book! I found it last year while cleaning out our church/school closed since 1980s library and my pastor said I could have it! I still read it all the time. I also found another by Sr. Maria del Rey called No Two Alike, about the sisters.

I like the old Daughters of Charity one (flying nun). I also like the Dominican ones and the old Benedictine habits. There are so many beautiful ones!

Oye. No one knows who they are and it's disheartening. They do follow the St. Maximilian Kolbe charism. They're only the best Order ever in my biassed opinion. They are the Order I am discerning with. They teach, do nursing, work in shrines and do secretarial work. I know I honestly did not know about them until two Sisters were sent to my Parish. They're amazing. Please see my profile picture for an idea of their habit.

Here is another question for you m'hijita:

In what country/culture/language did their founder/foundress establish them? Did this "religious institute" begin in, for example,
Spain, Italy, Portugal, another part of Europe, Latin America?
Also, do you know if they write letters/abbreviations after their name: like OFM, OSF, MCJ, or something, and if so, what?
Have these sisters made any brochures or vocational literature available in your parish, about their institute? Thank you!

I know their foundress is from Italy, so I'm certain it started in Italy and now they have a convent in France and I know there are some stationed in Africa as well. One of the Sisters I am friends with was the first American to join the Order. Then there is one convent in Conneticut and the two I'm friends with are here in New Jersey with me. The abbreviation they use after their names is SFm, exactly like that. The m is lower case. I got one brochure about them when I went on retreat with them and I'm trying to hunt down more.

what Vee said that has been quoted a few times

Very true. And remember that clothes of this type are only for this world. Won't we wear white robes in Heaven? I also remember reading how St. Francis received incredibly beautiful clothing in Heaven because he chose the least and poorest of all clothing for this world.

But to answer the question in a down-to-earth way, I love the contrasting colors of the Redemptoristine Nuns. Also the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara. And others that have been mentioned.

But my all-time favorite is probably this:

But like vee said much more beautifully than I could, the habit that I will be estactic to wear is the one Jesus and Our Lady cover me in

There is no website unfortunately. I'm sorry I do not know as much as I should since I am discerning with them. I'm doing my best here.

I like colors, but not AS much as the traditional Redemptoristines.

I think Redemptoristines in modified habits are just red. That seems saner.

And are those postulants in yellow? Holy guacamole. I would get a headache.

At this rate, we'll have to start another thread! Here's the little that my searching scared up.
True, or False?

Foundress: Sister Maria Elisabetta Patrizi. Still living. Spent over five years as a Carmelite nun, then left with an indult.
She made a foundation in Lisieux, France. There are Sisters in the Diocese of Tivoli also, and in the African country of Burkina Faso (is French spoken there?).
But I can't find photographs either....

Isn't she the foundress of the Sisters Minor of Mary Immaculate? It says so here: http://www.cmswr.org/member_communities/SMMI.htm

This is their website in the States: http://sistersminormi.org/

This is why I'm wondering if FutureSister's Order is an "off-shoot" (if you will) or has some sort of relationship with them. They seem very similar.
