And below are the Servants of the Divine Mercy, who operate out of Poland

Does anyone know if these sisters have something to do with the quote below from St. Faustina's Diary (Notebook II)? I know Faustina never founded a community during her lifetime. But seeing as how this community has red veils, is from Poland and is associated with devotion to Divine Mercy, I thought maybe there is a connection...?

+ The 14th. This Thursday, when we were having nocturnal adoration, at first I could not pray; a sort of dryness engulfed me. I could not meditate on Jesus' sorrowful Passion. So I lay prostrate and offered the most sorrowful Passion of the Lord Jesus to the heavenly Father in reparation for the sins of all the world. When I got to my feet after this prayer and walked to my kneeler, I suddenly saw Jesus next to it. The Lord Jesus appeared as He was during the scourging. In His hands He was holding a white garment with which He clothed me and a cord with which He girded me, and He covered me with a red cloak like the one He was clothed with during His Passion and a veil of the same color, and He said to me, This is how you and your companions are going to be clothed. My life from birth to death on the Cross will be the rule for you. Fix your eyes upon Me and live according to what you see. I desire that you penetrate into My spirit more deeply and understand that I am meek and humble of heart.
...
November 24, 1935. Sunday, first day. I went at once before the Blessed Sacrament and offered myself with Jesus, present in the Most Holy Sacrament, to the Everlasting Father. Then I heard these words in my soul: Your purpose and that of your companions is to unite yourselves with Me as closely as possible; through love You will reconcile earth with heaven, you will soften the just anger of God, and you will plead for mercy for the world. I place in your care two pearls very precious to My Heart: these are the souls of priests and religious. You will pray particularly for them; their power will come from your diminishment. You will join prayers, fasts, mortifications, labors and all sufferings to My prayer, fasting, mortification, labors and sufferings and then they will have power before My Father.

We have the Handmaid Consolers of Our Lady of LaSalette: http://cloisters.tripod.com/lasalette/

Please pray for the two who were to found it. They have been forced underground by occultist relatives.

Perhaps this group you propose could be their active branch? The habit seems to indicate the Rule of St Augustine with Dominican-based constitutions.

Are you feeling called to make a new foundation?

Blessings,
Gemma

After discerning that the two religious orders that I had been in serious discussions with were not where I was being called to, I did briefly entertain the idea of founding a new charism.

But that was some years ago, and today I seek simply to serve the Lord in my current lay state.

Amy,

Good eye! I do believe that this community was founded in part, to honor the request of St. Faustina for a contemplative religious community dedicated to the Divine Mercy.

Here is their site, though it is only in Polish.

This situation is what we term a "doorstep" proposal--one that is proposed, then left with us to "foster" it.

If you could PM me with all other details which you might have, such would be appreciated.

Also, you could turn that idea into your own Personal Prayer Rule, and make the reconciliation a special intention of your own.

Blessings,
Gemma

I was working with a discerner on this: http://cloisters.tripod.com/divinemercy/ when she had to put off discernment to care for ailing relatives. I can't expound on what happened with her, but please pray for her housing and job situation. If what she told me was indeed true, it is dire. I gave her what referrals I could, based on the limited knowledge I have of her area.

Blessings,
Gemma

Another order outside of full communion, employing a rather unique habit.

These are the Roman Catholic Missionary Sisters of Restitution based in Mexico and the United States. They also have a men's branch known as the Missionaries of Jesus Christ, Priest.

The Restitution sisters were in Puerto Rico, but the bishop there said the vision calling for them was not of supernatural nature, and therefore couldn't back them. These pix--did they come from a website?

Gemma

The photo of the two sisters holding hands in the black and white photo are School Sisters of Notre Dame.I have a photo of my late great aunt,Sister Mary Generose wearing that exact same habit. Her cousin Elizabeth also belongs to them, and just celebrated her 100th birthday in November 2011.

Gemma, Don't know where the Restitution Sisters photo came from,as so far can't find a website. At www.miraclehunter.com, look up Marian apparitions, and then look up church statements. This vision occured in Sabana Grande ,Puerto Rico, and in the Archbishop's letter he mentions both the sisters and the priests founded out of this vision. Never heard of it before know.

It will be difficult for most of you to find information on these sisters due to the fact that anything surrounding them has been produced in the Spanish language.

FYI the sisters are canonically resident in the Roman Catholic diocese of Parral in Mexico, as are their male counterparts. Additionally, they were (and perhaps remain) active in the Archdiocese of San Antonio, in the city of Del Rio.

I would hope that no one here would disparage these sisters because of their association with the apparitions in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico - as this plays no bearing on their canonical status.

LibCatholic2000 -- you're new to the phorum. There are a few of us on here that are fluent in spanish and have provided translations/summaries of websites in spanish. Same with French. So -- if there is information/links on the sisters and/or priests you are more than welcomed to post it. Someone will translate or summarize.

As far as the apparitions of La Virgen del Pozo -- I found it very questionable. I am of Puerto Rican heritage, and most Catholics from there (at least that I have been in contact with) do not give it much attention.

Finally -- how old is this community? I've always stated that again, much prudence here. The more established the community the better ... not to say that someone can't be called to a newer community but it is such a different dynamic that it is not everyone's calling and unluckily it is not as simple as finding the right fit. A new community may be a right fit, but you need to go into it with both eyes wide open with some level of knowledge that a new community is not established, and may end up breaking up.

We've seen at least one recent community where this has happened, and I had met a lady (years ago) that had to reestablish herself after 10 years when her community disbanded and her vows were dispensed. It was not easy for her at all.
