tl%205.JPG Dominican Sisters of Mary and (I think) a SSEW smile.gif More to come...

OH MY GOODNESS.  That is Sr. Marie Bernadette and my friends Miriam and Paul to the right hand side!

Miriam is wearing glasses. Oh my goodness. They are a part of my parish -- well, Paul recently graduated and moved. SO COOL. And Sr. Marie Bernadette has since left the SSEW's and is currently studying in Rome and discerning the formation of a new community dedicated to the Theology of the Body.

Does anybody have pictures of TeresaBenedicta in her SSVM garb? Is she still a postulant or is she a novice now?

Merry Christmas!

I think. I could be wrong, but I think she recently took first vows? I seem to remember reading it here.

ETA Yes, she has taken vows see the thread, and some lovely pictures, here:

My goodness. There are 45 pages to this wonderful topic!! Personal observation.has anyone noticed that the communities that wear a actual wedding dress (before receiving their habit) are a tad old fashion looking...one never see's long sleeve wedding dresses anymore..nor would you ever see em profiled on the TV show "Say yes to the dress" and "yes to the dress" Atlanta Ga (where so many communities are located) yes they have mentioned Catholic/church weddings requiring shoulders covered. Personally I love long sleeves.and nor do I have slender arms for sleeveless dresses of any kind. I know why the dresses prior to receiving the habit are the way they are and the Catholic Church wedding traditions. This was meant to be a funny gee whizz observation. Not meant to offend anyone or community as well. Merry Christmas to all!

Actually, several of my friends who recently got married had long sleeved wedding gowns. And if I were called to married life, my gown would most certainly be full sleeved. :)

Here is a photo of her beautiful gown, focusing on the sleeves:

That is a beautiful dress!  I always said that if I was going to get married, my dress would look VERY similar to that.  It's very Grace Kelly-esque.  :)
