They look like Benedictine style habits with a cincture outside the scapular.
Actually, there are vast differences between their Habits and Benedictine Habits. Franciscans were never given a specific guideline for their Habit. Francis simply said a robe, with a hood and a cord. That's it. So because of that, there are Franciscans with gray (The original Franciscan color that Francis wore, contrary to popular belief), brown, tan, and even black. The O.F.M. Conventuals wear black as well. But even with the color similarities, there are vast differences between the Habits of the Franciscans and the Benedictines. The Benedictines have much more complicated Habits, as they are Monastic and were given specific guidelines, as opposed to Francis' brief explanation of what he wanted.

I said look like. Don't over analyze.
I'm not over-analyzing. I'm simply saying there are vast differences, and that they don't look like each other. Just because they're both black does not mean they look the same. Far from it, in fact. If you put on a Benedictine Habit and then put on a Franciscan Habit you'd be amazed at just how different they really are, and how different they truly look.

Here's a picture of Benedictines:

Okay, based on your pic they don't look alike. Maybe I should have been more specific. I meant the more commonly used Benedictine habit.

Here is a visual aid to explain my position

On the left is a Benedictine Monk, on the right a Franciscan
on the bottom is a Benedicting monk with the Franciscans arm and cincture not to subtly photoshopped

I stand by my first post.

Just to keep this thread going I thought that I would post a question - I apologize in advance if anyone has issues with me doing so.

This is a canonical community of the Catholic Church which is made up of men and women who take vows poverty, chastity and obedience.

This canonical community follows Francsican and monastic tradition which has led them to farming among other things. the brothers and sisters always choose those works that the signs of the times indicate are most in need of our witness in a given region.

I'm not denying that they look kind of similar, I'm denying that they're almost exact matches. Put on a Benedictine Habit and a Franciscan Habit, and first you will notice that Benedictine Habits are considerably heavier. This is because there's more to them than Franciscan Habits. Franciscans have one to two piece Habits, sometimes three at the most, while Monks traditionally wear much more than that. Traditional Carmelite Habits are amazingly heavy. A Franciscan once told me that he put one on and he had gained ten pounds. Besides, there are obvious differences that you can see with the side-by-side comparison. The Franciscan is wearing a cord, and his hood is more noticeable, above other things. Also, I think Brother Maximilian-The Franciscan-'s Habit is darker.
