What Do You Want Your Religious Name To Be?

My thoughts change all the time on this. Currently:

-Sr. Gemma Elizabeth Joy of the Visitation
but if my name is required to have a Marian name:
-Sr. Mary Elizabeth Joy of the Visitation
and if those don't work out:
-Sr. Mary Catherine Gemma of the Crucified Christ
-Sr. Catherine Elizabeth Gemma of the Precious Blood
-Sr. Mary Gemma Elizabeth of the Passion of Christ

So what this means is that I don't really know after all.

I was also thinking about Sr. Jerzy Mary (or Jerzy Marie) in honor of Bl. Jerzy Popieluszko.

I've also considered:

Sr. Mary Gabriel (for my Patron Saint this year, St. Gabriel the Archangel, and for Sr. Mary Gabriel of the Sisters of Life who helped me so much when I reverted to the Church)

Sr. John Paul

But if you asked me today what I wanted to be named, it would still be:

Sr. Miriam Elizabeth of the Divine Mercy (or Sr. Mary Elizabeth)  :)

Sr. Virginia Marie of the Holy Nativity

Sr. Marie Joseph of Jesus

Sr. Maria Francesca of the Cross

Are you sure you haven't been lurking in my brain lately? :p I like that last one too.

Sr. M.* Therese

Sr. M. Francesca

Sr. M. Peter

Titles:

of the Cross

of the Crucified King

*By "M." I mean Mary, Marie, or Maria, with no particular preference except for whatever rings the best.

And my brother just suggested (as a joke): Sr. Small Snoop (or its equivalent in Latin) His fiancee calls me that, because I called myself that while talking to her in the third person one day, and she liked it. (I can just see a letter coming into the convent addressed to "Small Snoop"... :hehe2:)

I am keeping the full names a secret until I submit them to Mother. The title that I would like for either is these names or whatever Mother gives me is Of Our Lady of Sorrows. Of course our Lord may have different plans and I end up with neither names and a waay different title.

Do you receive the name right as you enter postulancy or when you are clothed as a novice?  I know some orders are different.  :)

If I become a member of a Third Order or Secular Order (Franciscans or other), and we can take a name in religion, I would like:

Miriam Elizabeth

John Paul

If a title is added at promises, I'd add either:

of Divine Mercy

of the Visitation

The Visitation is my favorite Marian feast day but I also love Divine Mercy.  I'd be nice to combine John Paul of Divine Mercy since he was beatified on the feast of Divine Mercy last year.  :)

We receive our names upon entering the novitiate.
