Nunmother, I believe you are not Catholic, correct? What it is like to have a daughter become a Catholic Nun? You are clearly very proud of her and happy for her. But was it hard?

DameAgnes, you are correct in that our family is Lutheran.  Sorry for the late response, but I have been getting ready to leave for a five week vacation in Germany and Austria.  As a parent, I am so very proud of the choices that a daughter makes, even if not the path which I would have chosen for her.  Getting through the first years was tough, but one must have a good attitude and go on with life or all parties involved will be miserable.   I look at the bright side and the good times we have when visiting the Monastery. 

 

I am not the best putting down my feelings in words.  I trust that our daughter would leave the Monastery if she did not believe in her heart that it was the right place for her.  Thank you for asking!
