Eleanor Ann Bologna was born on January 4, 1938 in New Orleans, LA. Our records show that she attended St. James Major School up to the 5th grade, then finished her grammar school at St. Joseph's. Eleanor was the only girl in her family; she had a younger brother - Antonio Wayne Bologna.

Eleanor attended the aspirancy of our community from August 1952 - June 1954. At that time our aspirancy was a boarding school for young women who were considering becoming members of our community. Eleanor became a candidate on June 10, 1954. She completed her high school education at Maria Immaculata Academy (a high school in part of our motherhouse, MIA was where our aspirants, candidates, postulants and novices completed their high school educations) in 1956.

After completion of high school Eleanor took several classes at Mallinckrodt College (also in our motherhouse).

She was invested (became a novice) and received the name "Sister M. Salvador" on August 21, 1957.

Sister Salvador made her first vows in our Congregation on August 21, 1959 and pronounced her perpetual vows on August 20, 1965.

Sister Salvador remained at the motherhouse in Wilmette, IL after making her first vows. From 1959 - 1961 she was a student at Mundelein College in Chicago. She did her practice teaching at St. Gregory School in Chicago from February to June of 1961. Sister Salvador graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Mundelein College in June 1961.

Sent to Westmont, IL (suburb of Chicago) in 1961, Sister Salvador was assigned to teach 4th grade. In 1963 she was sent to St. Mary Magdalen School in Metairie, LA, to teach 5th grade one year, then 6th grade for two years. In 1966 she was given charge of the 8th grade.

In August 1970 Sister Salvador was sent to teach at St. Charles Borromeo School in Baton Rouge where she taught 6th grade for one year, then 4th grade for the next year. In 1972 she returned to St. Mary Magdalen School as a 8th grade teacher.

Sister Salvador was transferred to Calumet City, IL in 1973 where she was a member of the House of Prayer for the next two years. In 1975 she was transferred to St. Mary School in Chicago to teach 8th grade.

Sister Salvador transferred to the Cloistered Passionist Nuns in Ellisville, MO on August 6, 1976.

I met her and felt she was really close to Our Lord. What an amazing journey she had!

How nice and lucky you are!

Our Passionist Nuns wears white habit and they are on another island, far from Manila.  For some reason, they never grow in numbers.  One Filipina nun transferred to Clark Summit, PA.

I often wonder why, so much bouncing back and forth! Of course I know, you go where you are needed.

I can understand why at the end of her teaching years...she "retired" to the cloistered community in 76! Lol (my bicentennial graduation year as well)
