50th anniversary prayer vigil for consecrated virgins

Recommended Posts

May 31, 2020 is the fiftieth anniversary of the promulgation of the revised Rite of Consecration to a Life of Virginity. That is, next week will mark fifty years since consecrated virginity "lived in the world" became a vocational option for women, for the first time since the early Middle Ages.

There was supposed to be a big conference to celebrate this in Rome, but that was postponed for obvious reasons. But to still mark the occasion, the Congregation for Religious in Rome published a prayer vigil so that consecrated virgins around the world can join together in prayer wherever they are.

I really like this prayer service, because it captures a lot of the spirituality of this vocation. It's worth a look or a prayerful read-through even if you're just discerning this.
