The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous verdict in the high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

It’s unanimous (9 - zip)

No one should be forced to go against their religious beliefs.

“The law at issue before the Supreme Court concerns moderate limits on the abortion of a child who has developed past 15 weeks, with a fully formed nose and lips, eyelids and eyebrows – when her humanity is beyond debate,” Mancini said. “Limiting gruesome late term abortions is compassionate and popular; and the norm in countries that have allowed their laws to catch up with the science.”

Mancini argued that most nations restrict elective abortions at an earlier point in a pregnancy than the United States does.

“Sadly, right now, the United States is one of only seven countries – including North Korea and China - that allow elective abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy," she said.

I was just reading some of the comments on the YouTube post above and it is so filled with HATE and vitriol for the Right to Life (RTL) belief and Christians, that you would think such talk would be banned like other hate speech on Facebook.

Facebook should enforce their hate speech ban, unilaterally just because the right to life Christian views are not main stream in today's liberal society does it make there words any less hate speech.

HATE is HATE

The Supreme Court formally denied a request from Texas abortion providers to freeze a state law that bars abortions after six weeks. Chief Justice John Roberts joined the three liberal justices in dissent.

The court's move means that the law -- which is one of the strictest in the nation and bans abortion before many people know they are pregnant -- will remain on the books.

in the video above The narrator boldly claims that nearly all of the applicants seeking abortion today (as a result of the court ruling) didn't know they were pregnant and denied abortions?

It makes me wonder why over 50 out of 55 (figure quoted in video) women who didn't know they were pregnant were at the clinic to arrange for a free (no cost) abortion.

Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are three of the most powerful (Catholic) political powers in the US and probably the world.

All three claim to be devout catholics.

All three advocate free and unfettered abortion up to the moment before birth.

All three have pledged to kill the bill #SB8

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden said Thursday he is launching a "whole-of-government" response to try to safeguard access to abortions in Texas after the Supreme Court’s decision not to block the state’s near-total ban on the procedure

"SCOTUS's failure to block #SB8 has delivered catastrophe to women in Texas. This radical law is an all out effort to erase the rights and protections of Roe v Wade," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tweeted on Wednesday.

"Every woman, everywhere has the constitutional and moral right to basic reproductive health care. We will fight SB8 and all immoral and dangerous attacks on women's health and freedoms with all our strength," she added.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer similarly attacked the Supreme Court for not intervening and letting the abortion ban become the law of the land in Texas.

news flash

Sept 3 (Reuters) - A Texas judge on Friday temporarily barred an anti-abortion group from suing Planned Parenthood to enforce a near-total ban on abortion in the state, handing the nation's largest abortion provider a small victory in the bitter legal fight.

Travis County District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble granted Planned Parenthood a temporary restraining order against the anti-abortion group, Texas Right to Life

At the same time…

Mexico's Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that criminal penalties for abortion in the world's second largest Catholic nation are unconstitutional.

The unanimous vote by the 11 members of the high court comes as Texas, just north of the US border, has taken steps to restrict access to the procedure after enacting the strictest anti-abortion law in the country last week
