For the record, Pope St. John Paul II gave Communion to Tony Blair, who was not only pro-choice but an Anglican at the time. He also gave Communion to other pro-choice politicians. So much for calling for their excommunication.

An action that was not saintly of the Saint.

Do you think the popes should speak out against the negative effects that the aborted bodies of millions of children have on the environment?

The Holy Father is not "supporting President Biden." He is supporting the SCIENCE. And he is a trained scientist. Are you?

What are your credentials? Asking in all seriousness.

Finally, he has NOT "taken the Traditional Mass" away. He has set rubrics for it. As he should. And, believe it or not, most "devout Catholics" have no interest in attending a Tridentine Mass.

But I guess you are more qualified than Pope Francis on matters both scientific and Catholic? I guess this is what is meant by "more Catholic than the Pope." Fortunately, I don't have such hubris.

He hasn't taken that Mass away, but he's making it much harder to survive. Why isn't he instead encouraging it? Most devout Catholics, and I consider myself to be one, though of course I struggle with my sins and weaknesses, perhaps have not been exposed to this beautiful Mass as was the case with me. I didn't experience it until a little over a year ago. Unfortunately I can't attend regularly because it is so far away. It is so refreshing to have sacred music and not the pop and folk music that pervades many Novus Ordo Masses.

Anyway, the Pope is not an economics expert and clearly leans towards socialism and has little love for the economic success of the US.

I excused the things the Pope said in the beginning, but no more. I think he's a bad Pope. I respect the office but have little respect for the man who seems to be working hard against the Church. Just because he's the Holy Father doesn't mean we're supposed to turn off our critical thinking regarding what he says and does.

And I am not here defending President Biden as a moral leader (though I think he has far more credibility in that area than the serial adulterer who he replaced). But abortion--on which the Holy Father has never wavered--is not the only issue that has moral implications

I vote according to policy and not who would be the best Sunday school teacher. Biden's policies are immoral. Other issues have "moral implications" but it seems they can be falsely equated with killing unborn babies, hence we have people who believe in abortion rights and who state they are more "prolife" than those who oppose abortion because they care about "the planet" or whatever is a current politically correct talking point. Sadly, the pope's concern for other moral issues gives cover to the baby killers and those who support them.

One thing that has troubled me about this pope from the beginning is that there are too many people who are enemies of the Church who like him.

It's intriguing to me, to check in, and see threads like this one, given old posters such as Kujo/Kujonicus were banned for a "lack of charity" when popping in and not cursing and such...and this thread is all about saying "F*** Joe Biden" in a childish way.

Romans 13:1, tells us, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Which is pretty straight forward, and when I checked in on the phorum in the previous administration, seemed to be trotted out to defend anything done by that administration’s gentleman who held the office of President of the United States.  Likewise, we’re told in Sacred Scripture, to pray for those in positions of authority, in 1 Timothy 2, when Saint Paul tells the subject of his letter, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” This is so important to Sacred Tradition, the other pillar of our faith, that it is a part of the Mass rubrics, to pray for our leaders.

Anyhow, no, a Christian shouldn't be saying it, to answer the original question posed.  Sacred Scripture tells us in Ephesians 4:29, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." I personally think much of what came out of the mouth of the last President fulfills this admonition, as does the spirit behind “Let’s Go Brandon.”  And as church attendance in America continues in freefall since 2016, it seems many have failed to heed the words of Christ, in the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 9, verses 42-47, ““If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.  If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.  And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.  And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell”.

I used to point a lot of folks to this site, who wanted to learn about Catholicism, or showed interest in it, but not now. It seems more likely to cause people to stumble, to cause them to turn away from the Church.

All of this said, am I Biden’s biggest fan? Hardly.  But I’ll take a self-acknowledged imperfect Catholic who attends Mass each week and tries their best, over someone for whom there was a literal golden idol of, who tear-gassed people for a photo-op in front of a church, and of whom so many in America seem to have made into their new god, to replace the Lord with. Just my two cents, on the rare occasion of popping in to read.

Are you referring to Biden as a Catholic who "tries his best"? How hard is it to say it's wrong to kill unborn babies and that they should be protected by law? Doesn't take that much "trying." Obviously he's sold out his faith for the sake of power and wealth. So you're anti-Trump and you really believe that he "tear gassed people to get a photo op"? Wow. At any rate, would you rather have had Joe Biden or Hillary choosing the SC Justices instead of Trump?

What you don't understand about "Let's Go Brandon" is that it is a chant that is not only criticizing the president but the corrupt media which supports him. Look into the origin of it if you don't already know it.

Trump 2024. The best friend our Church has had in the White House in spite of the fact that he's a sinner.

President Brandon, for over 20 years advocated and supported the Hyde amendment.  At some point during the last election cycle he reversed his support and advocated for (late-term) abortion not only for Americans but for the entire planet

US President Joe Brandon has reversed a ban on federal funds going to international aid groups that perform or inform about abortions.

He said the ending of the so-called Mexico City Policy reverses former President Trump's "attack on women's health access".

The memo orders a review of a Trump-era policy blocking funding for US clinics that offer abortion referrals as well.

Mr Brandon also signed an edict expanding the Obamacare insurance programme.

moral leader my ass

Biden/Brandon abandon is Catholic beliefs for political gain/ expediency.

BTW, if your unaware.

The Mexico City Policy was first enacted by Republican President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and has been repeatedly renewed by Republicans and cancelled by Democrats.

For decades, the US has barred money from being spent on overseas abortions but the Mexico City policy takes that a step further. It prevents federal funds from going to organisations that provide abortions, abortion counselling or advocate for the legal right to abortion.

Here is an interesting take on it;

I think Mike Rowe nailed it!

Also, what if you say “Let’s Go Brandon” in order to not say “F, Joe Biden”?  No charitable points for avoiding vulgarities?

Nope. This is deeply offensive. Of course, you may well approve of his predecessor, who insulted pretty much any type of person you can name and who was about as vulgar as it gets. So maybe offensiveness doesn't bother you?

Perhaps users of the slogan only needs to better tailor the term to your 'likes'.

"Let's go self-righteous protestant!"

For example.

You have no problem with insulting others.

And who have I insulted here? To call someone a Cafeteria Catholic who casts aspersions on the Holy Father? [Not that I did that here.] And who is the "self-righteous Protestant" you refer to here?

You repeatedly made the attempt to personally insult me by calling me various names. Because I don't agree, strongly disagree, that Pope Francis is a good spiritual leader.

I still have no names to call you. I believe you are very helpful in the vocation board. You are a good Catholic.

And I believe that Catholic teaching encompasses more than abortion (something not mentioned in Scripture). I deeply admire--and am challenged by--Pope Francis's holistic and comprehensive understanding of Life, of scripture, the Gospel message, and Catholic Social Teaching. Is he perfect? No. But, then, neither am I, and I do find he has much to teach me.

Catholicism does cover more than abortion but it doesn’t claim everything else has to be conquered with the same level of attention.   Even in our own spiritual lives we’re told to eradicate habitual/willful mortal sins first, then focus on willful venial sins, and then focus on our other various faults.

Focusing on abortion more than immigration, the death penalty, etc etc isn’t inconsistent with Catholic morality!

Cardinal Daniel DiNardo said, “My friends, civility begins in the womb. If we cannot come to love and protect innocent life from the moment God creates it, how can we properly care for each other as we come of age? Or when we come to old age?”
