How did you like the Daughters of Mary? Isn't that the new Order in OH that was just started and only has two sisters? I was intrigued by them when I heard of them, but they never returned my e-mail(s) (which is all right, since it worked out with the PCPA's for me).

I think you're thinking of this order -Children of Mary

they do seem very interesting, and they have a purple habit, how cool is that?!

Oh you're right, sorry :) They do have an interesting habit, although for me the purple was kind of a drawback. How vain is that?!

Hi, I'm new here. :)

I'm considering a religious vocation also. So far, I've only contacted:

Carmelite Nuns of the Ancient Observance in Wahpeton, ND

I stopped because my parents asked me to stop - they think I should wait till I'm done college :weep: so I don't rush into it and regret it later. I have looked at (but not contacted):

Poor Clare Colettines in Rockford, IL
St. Joseph Monastery Passionist Nuns in Whitesville, KY (I probably can't join though, since you must be an American citizen, and I'm Canadian)
Cistercian Nuns in Prairie du Sac, WI

Hi! Welcome! I'm sorry you feel you have to put your discernment on hold. I believe there are a good number of girls on the boards with your same situation. There is also a young woman who will, God-willing, be entering the Poor Clare Colettines in Rockford! Maybe she is the one who referred you to PM.
Anyway, I'm Lauren. I'm entering the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Hanceville, Alabama, in December. (www.olamshrine.com/the_nuns.htm)
God bless!
Lauren
