STAGE FOUR COMPLETE!!!

I received my passport back in the mail today. In it was an R-1 visa valid until 17sept2012. I was not expecting to get it back so soon. It has only been 35 days since I became debt free, and I now have my R-1 Visa. I could theoretically be there in time for Christmas!

Now it is time to start winding down my life "outside". I am going to suggest an arrival date of Wednesday, March 26th, 2008. March 25 would be the Annunciation and the monks all like to be home on feastdays. Monday is Easter Monday of course. My last day of being phone fodder will be March 14.

And here's a little something from Norcia

And finally, a little something from Christ in the Desert

Praise be to God! , how wonderful, i know that feeling, i experienced it after a kind lady, almost out of the blue, and after the 9hour power novena to the infant of Prague, offered to pay off ALLL my student loan and little debts... in lieu of a Vocation.., ...which she did,,,it was like chains falling off...and being truly Free to move in the Spirit!
alwaus wanted to Visit CiD, but it looks like i wont be able to vevr.........quite a unique place amongst the diverse Subiaco Congr. ...i did see their Abbot though when he was at Farnborough for the Abbatial Blessing...awesome...

CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF!!!!

The Novice Master was fine with my proposed Entrance Date of March 26, 2008. They are a bit tight for space so I might have to buy a tent and sleeping bag once I arrive in Albuquerque. My last day of work will be Friday march 14. That gives me 169 more sleeps until my last day of work and 181 more sleeps until I leave on a jet plane.

Not that I am looking forward to it or anything. I'm far too old and mat-ure to :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

So that means I'm actually leaving before you are ... yippie! Yes! (hehehe). I leave early Jan -- will enter end of Jan. I still have the visa issues ... but I'm going to trust that it will resolve itself (otherwise I'll be in Argentina for 3 months).

I'll never be too old and/or mature to :bounce:

150 MORE SLEEPS!!!

One bit of drama lately. The bank that held one of my Student Loans was still trying to colledt them even though they were included in my bankruptcy of 7 years ago by court order 2 months ago. I referred the matter to my attourney who sent them a strongly worded fax on letterhead that included saying that if he finds out that they contacted me directly again to collect the discharged debt, he will seek a contempt of court order.

But all is well now and the countdown is proceeding without interruption.

^_^ I am praying for you.

I have a beautiful and unusual icon of Christ of the Desert, with Scripture verses in Hebrew and Aramaic. If you are allowed to have any items of personal devotion in your cell I would be pleased to send it to you.

125 MORE SLEEPS!!
:monk: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :monk:

The drama from my last update has been resolved. So now I am 25 days closer. I have a busy day ahead of me today. I will be going to mass, reconciliation, and adoration at a local church that has an adoration chapel in its basement. I will be buying my plane ticket today. Not sure if I will make it a one-way ticket or a return ticket. I am utterly convinced that MCiD is where I need to be but I wonder if maybe i'll have trouble with the border guards if I only have a one-way ticket.
