nothin from Amy. Maybe if we offer the baby some Irish Whiskey it'll come out (since baby is part Irish)or some pasta since the baby is part Italian.

No news yet. I've been at work all day and just got back, and we've heard nothing since this morning.

If it makes anyone feel any better, my mom labored with me for three days

Yeah I was talking to a friend this morning who had a family member labor for three weeks.

I forgot about that! Maybe it runs in the family? For Laura and the baby's sake, I hope not. If she's still laboring, I hope she's getting some rest.

I know some women that have regular contractions (1 min. 3 min apart or shorter) that last for days then they stop and then start up again. Not false labor, mind you, when the contractions are irregular.

Well, when we talked to me mom this morning, they had broken her water and she was fully dilated. I always thought once you were fully dilated it was time to push...and I also thought pushing was relatively short? :idontknow:

Truth be told, I'm a little worried.

UPDATE: Baby is stuck in her pelvis, so they just checked into the hospital. News to follow when we know more.

We're praying! I was hoping this wasn't going to happen.

Even when you are fully dilated, it may not be time to push because the baby may not be quite dropped down enough yet. If baby is still too high you could be pushing for hours without any progress whatsoever. Usually there is a really uncontrollable urge to push when it's time. Another thing is that sometimes you may appear fully dilated but aren't actually and if you start pushing with this you can cause swelling of the cervix which can cause lots of problems. Generally it's best to wait to push until you feel you can't keep from pushing. That's generally the signal that it's time. Most women who have drugs don't feel that urge. Lucky for me I actually did even with having an epidural.
