pax
I had learned that in the past it was required that those invested with the scapular who wanted to obtain the Sabatine Privilege were to say the Little Office of the BVM daily, but with a priest's permission a rosary could be substituted instead. My question is, would the saying the regular Liturgy of the Hours (Morning, Evening, and Night Prayer and the Office of Readings) suffice in place of the Little Office? Thanks, Pax
cappie
It is true that the Sabbatine Privilege requires the rectitatin of the Office of Our Lady, however to recite the Roman Liturgy of the Hours would suffice. The spirit behind the requirements, prayer, chastity according to one's state of life and penance would suggest the recition of the Liturgy of the hours fits in here. If you have any questions I suggest you ask a Carmelite priest.
