inunionwithrome Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 What is even worse, is if the child has food allergies and they try to force them to eat something wheat/milk/ or whatever related. Oy vey!
TheresaThoma Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 All I can say is they would have had a fit over my middle school packed lunch, It was yogurt and a granola bar with a drink. If we had some other items (fruit, carrots, other types of snacks) I would throw one of those in too. It most definitely wouldn't meet the standards yet I am still healthy, imagine that...
Papist Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012
That's okay, the GOP tried to make pizza a vegetable once also because of the sauce.
Neither is okay
i<3LSOP Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) I went to school and they served veggies, but they also happened to serve pizza, chicken nuggets, pancakes, mozzarella sticks etc. They asked if you wanted veggies and if you said you didn't want any veggies you wouldn't get them. Oh, and most kids instead of buying lunches with their money would buy the cookies and chips in the lunch line and they'd get away with no real food. I don't know why the these people are making such a biggie about this. They should visit my old school and see the junk they give the kids who buy their food at school. Papist Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 I think there is more to this story. For example, perhaps the teacher has a chip on her shoulder regarding the child's parents. Who knows, this could be some way for the teacher to act out towards the child's parents b/c she doesn't like something about them.
Selah Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 My high school lunch sucked. Ugh. Pizza, pizza soggy salad fixings. Lots of candy. No nutrition whatsoever.
Papist Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 I think that teacher needs to attend an anti-bulling workshop.
Hubertus Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I didn't know you homeschooled, Papist. You're my new hero.

But I think that they are doing this so that way they can get the child hooked and get money.
