When I started discerning my spiritual advisor told me not to tell anyone, friends or family. On a few occasions I didn't listen to him and told my sister who has been nothing but supportative but I don't know how my mom and other sister will be. I usually pester him at our meetings to let me tell the rest of my family and he has said no so far since I am not close enough to entering. So even though it is extremely difficult not to tell anybody, seeing how hard it is to tell family and friends I think I will continue to listen to my spiritual advisor and not tell everybody else :
