To find out the REAL facts about abstinence education there are articles about whether or not it is effective on this link. Just go under the "Abstinence vs. 'Safe' Sex" section. Also, on this site you can find out facts that planned parenthood doesn't want us to know about in regards to contraceptives.

who am i going to beleive, an obviously slanted site "chasity.com" that doesn't even mention its sources specifically or congressional and university and other scientific studies?

the congressional studies were cited earlier, and there's university studies cited here:

more scientific studies here:

"Teens who received comprehensive sex education were 60 percent less likely to report becoming pregnant or impregnating someone than those who received no sex education."

The link provided comes from a chastity website that cites giants like the CDC and other secular institutes.
The surest way to avoid transmission of sexually transmitted diseases is to abstain from sexual intercourse, or to be in a long-term mutually monogamous relationship with a partner who has been tested and you know is uninfected.
That's from the CDC. (Center for Disease Control and Prevention)

Let's be clear, if abstinence isn't promoted, then "safe sex" is. Of course, the CDC also states that the condom is effect when used correctly. According to the CDC as well, more than 75% of condom uses reported incorrect usage.

So, while we may use chastity sites and socialist sites, let's look at the whole picture. That article from socialist worker failed to site the sources of the study it so used. (The chastity site provides links and information from many other secular institutes ) In fact, I looked up the article socialist worker mentioned. It goes to say that 14% of the decline was due to the fact of abstinence related programs. (86% was due to birthcontrol and contraceptives) It goes on to conclude that due to the higher percentage of contraception usage, then obviously, contraception is most effective.

The article does NOT state whether or not abstinence effectiveness has gone up or down or if contraceptive usage had gone up or down. Wouldn't that be pretty important? It did not state what the percentages were in the past. I don't have time to look it up, but I'll bet my bottom dollar abstinence is on the rise. That's why the slant on the article. If the percentage of abstinence programs is rising, what does that mean for the birth control business? Anyway, it's worth looking into.

At least Jason Evert cites all his sources, from secular and faith based and if you don't believe the "biased chastity site", you can look up the articles they cite they mention and read it yourself. You can read how abstinence is working by reading a document that is actual testimony before the US Senate.

It doesn't surprise me that the Socialist Worker took such a stance full of hatred and resentment. Virtue is not something simply lacking in the modern world. It is something many in the modern world actually resent. And that shows in the article cited above.
