Yeah, I had no idea that "President-elect" was an office. Do we really need a sign to identify someone?

As for the cut on the Reagans... nice....

Nancy Reagan seances? I thought she consulted astrologers. It was Lincoln's wife that was into seances.

I don't think he was trying to be overtly rude. Just a stupid joke with poor delivery because it wasn't well thought out.

It was Hillary Clinton, not Nancy Reagan, who reportedly had seances in the White House.

Pretty dang low 'joke' being that he was talking about talking to past presidents who are alive then makes gives the line about Nancy.

Reagan had a long and slow death, and Nancy had to watch and care for him, pretty dang low Obama.

But really what do want from Barrack the Butcher of Children.

Correct.

He called Nancy Reagan and apologized.

The office of president-elect is a real office and a real title. There is a transition team. He has to start selecting his staff and cabinet officers now. Especially in the middle of two wars and the economic crisis.

Ummmm, I'm not so sure about that. After Reagan was out of office it came out that Nancy was heavily into psychics. The seances sound like her thing. I truly can't see Hillary being interested in that.

The term President-Elect is not an office as the Constitution makes no mention of it. The term arose simply as a gesture of respect for someone who has been elected President, and will be President, but has yet to be sworn in so he actually can be President. It's not an office with any power whatsoever.

Technically, he hasn't even been elected yet. That happens in December. President-elect is not an office either, at least in the sense that it is an unofficial position and there is no authority in the position.

I don't think Hillary Clinton had seances in the White House. I think what you're thinking of is the declaration that she had conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt. That's not really ALL that weird. I don't think she actually believed that ER replied... or if she said that she did, I think she was merely speculating on what she (Clinton) believes that she (Roosevelt) would say...

There was a short lived scandal when it was revealed that then first lady Hilary Clinton was channelling Eleanor Roosevelt. If I remember correctly it was early in the first term.

Back on topic....are people really surprised by his self aggrandizement? After all, during the campaign he briefly used his own presidential seal on his podium until the ridicule got too much for him. You can see a picture of it here.
