I wish my dad had stayed home and my mom had worked full time. The house would have been a mess, and we'd have eaten a lot of spam sandwiches, but he was much funner. Of course, not asking us to clean and only making messes with us was probably why he was fun. On the other hand, all our friends probably wouldn't have wanted to hang out with us. The house was always clean with freshly baked cookies. We had trouble getting them to leave.

This thread brings me back to my days at a secular women's college that I was at for two years. I remember when one girl went on and on how spoons, bowls, sugar packets, salt and pepper shakers are used by our patriarchal society to "keep women in their place." :lol_roll: Such items are misogynist apparently.

There's feminism in light of God's vision for womanhood as is found in the feminine genius and then there's just irrational paranoia of men.

I remember that dinner. She picked up one of the packets which had "Sweet and Low" written on it. She said that it was to show how men want women to be sweet and doing so makes them have a low status in society. This is encouragement of such behavior. Yet another blue packet which is supposed to symbolize men said, "Equality" was to symbolize how men are all equal, but women are not. I don't remember what she said about the splenda, but I do know that it had a similar connotation.

Oh the propaganda! However shall we women fight this?

I hope she got a good dose of reality as soon as she graduated, and realized there are more important things to life than analyzing the sexist agenda of artificial sweetener.
