A lot of people seem to dig this post, but it strikes me as an epic exaggeration.

I admit, perhaps I've missed a ton of threads because I don't even know what you're talking about with half of this.

"Muhammedans, militant homosexuals, Satanists, Onanists, Michael Jackson worshippers, and other fragile souls"

I remember the Muslims who posted for a few days but that's about it. And that last line is just asinine imo.

I'm not just trying to be contrary either, I'm quite serious. Do you (and those who +1'd this) really believe that this is an accurate description of PM!??
I'm actually serious, though I've had no problems with you personally.
But if you want a real hoot, you should read my warn list! It's a real joke! (And yes, I've gotten into trouble for criticizing MJ and his fans - before his death, btw)
But I'm not claiming persecution. I know others have gotten into bigger trouble over less, particularly those of a "traditional" persuasion.
It's just that there is a real double standard. Even dUSt has admitted to it, though he gave "pious" reasons for it.

I think that if people are going to get penalized for insulting Mohammed, they should be equally penalized for insulting Jesus. If they get penalized for offending homosexuals or Muslims, they should be equally penalized for insulting the Catholic Church.
Anything else is not Catholic, but politically-correct excrement.

The huge double standard. That I've been banned for "speaking the truth" that I see, but if you do the same and act like an a-ssistant, you don't get banned. What does charity mean to you? I'm curious.

A member of this forum called God a rapist, and my comment to him got me banned for a week. It was an honest comment. Look at that, I get banned for my honesty too.

Here's the thing about the mods: they're normal people who, like the rest of us, don't follow every thread on this site. If you see blasphemy click the Report button and I guarantee you that a mod will take care of it. As a former mod I can testify to the fact that mods do not tolerate blatant blasphemy any more than they tolerate porn. Geez, some of the mods here will edit/warn for things like "wt*" "b*" and "om*" for crying out loud.

I can also testify to the fact that only the extremely nit picky and asinine reports get ignored.

Thanks. :)
I got banned for calling Jesus a bastard, in the literal sense, in a discussion about a medical mutation that could cause Jesus' virgin birth. No discussion, nothing. Banned instantly. I'll probably be banned again just for saying that word.

What else? Defending myself against an unfair attack on my character. I said bass ackwards. The horror. I called a bishop a drama queen (which he was, but I guess that's inappropriate.) I made a satirical comment about abortion. I said goddamit.
Oh well.

My question is, if you don't want me to say bad words, why aren't they filtered? Apparently we'd rather waste the time filtering j-aime, c-heese and other stupid words but swear words are just fine—more ammunition to ban people.

Honestly, I am not offended when a Muslim says that he believes that worshipping Christ is a form of idolatry, because he is simply stating the teaching of Mohammad.

I am more concerned by political correctness that masquerades as charity, and by the theological indifferentism that seems to be popular at the present time.

I understand your post, Fidei. Concerning your spoiler, I was issued a warning (it was my first offense of "bad language") for using the exact same word, in its proper context. In fact I had even censored the word to avoid offending anyone.

I can't read your warn list anymore but I kind of remember it. Did I ever give you a reduction or two?

Oh, I would not cross dUSt on the issue of Michael Jackson, not a good idea. haha. A LOT of people on this site are carrying around Jackson-related warns, believe me.

That's a special case that has nothing to do with PC or any of that.
Maybe you never noticed, but dUSt's little sister in an epic MJ fan. Need I say more?

You definitely deserved getting banned for saying that.

You deserved getting banned that time, too.

No, I didn't. It wasn't meant in a derogatory way. It was a legitimate discussion about the medical possibility of Jesus being an XX male. That would mean he didn't have a real father if he had genes only from Mary. Just because you find it offensive doesn't mean i deserved anything. The discussion shouldn't have been started (I didn't start it) if it was such an offensive topic.

No tolerance of blasphemy, and no glorification of Satan the father of lies. And any 'joke' like that should be taken seriously, in that those jokes should not be allowed. For the safety of souls, if a true satanist were to visit phatmass his visit should be taken very seriously, and even limited in that visit. Because Satan is not a joke he is real and the most wicked being of all, and worship of him is a grave abomination. Someone who would want to stop committing that abomination should have a more extended visit than someone who does not will to repent of such an abomination. Someone certainly should not be able to joke or pretend to be a satanist, because it should cross a line. We are Catholics, this is a Catholic board, we should know that Jesus Christ is greatly offended by blasphemy, and greatly opposed to Satan.
