Sojourner
I don't know how I missed this earlier, but I did. I haven't been on very much, only sporadically over the past several days, and haven't looked too carefully through the phorums. I am incredibly touched by everyone's prayers and support. Thank you all so much. Next week we have tests on Monday and Tuesday, and he'll get a port installed on Wednesday that will allow for easy administration of chemotherapy drugs as well as easy access for blood draws for tests monitoring progress. We have further testing on Jan. 4, then on Jan. 6 we meet with the oncologist to go over all the results. We'll probably start chemotherapy shortly thereafter. Emotionally (and physically) things have been up and down. There has been lots of laughter and tears over the past few days, but overall we are staying positive. We are realizing the wealth we have in friends and family, as people are stepping up to make sure our life doesn't fall apart as we go through this. One of my sisters-in-law and her husband, who live in Slovakia, were planning on being in the States for a little over a month from mid-January to mid-February; they'll stay with us and help us through the start of chemo, and through labor and delivery. Other friends and family are taking over responsibilities with our business. Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
