Wow, this is really disgusting. I am so sorry you were subject to such perverts, Selah (and anyone else who was in the room this afternoon). I just got home from Mass so I have no clue what just happened.

I think we can create a Tinychat room that requires a password.

There were several pervs on all three chats that were made (salveregina, wearenomads, XIX's new one)

So, if we can make a password protected tinychat, awesome. If not...it's way too dangerous to continue.

This is something else to consider - maybe we should create a random chat title, sort of how you would create a password, a jumble of letters and numbers.

I didn't make a chat.

But yes, this tinychat is very dangerous. The spammers seem to be several steps ahead of us. I wouldn't be surprised if the culprit was some sort of virus mastermind that is tracking us.

There was like 30 people there. I doubt they knew anything about Phatmass. But it does seem unlikely that a random stranger created a room called "Salve Regina." I'm not sure how they all got there.

At the same time, it might only seem this way. The spammers are all anonymous, right? Yet they know of each other - the one from either Thursday or Friday knew about "Fake Nihil" who was around months ago and has not been seen in quite some time. I feel that one person got the URL through status updates and decided to harass us, which paved the way for copy cats. In truth, we may have made things worse by posting about the spammer through our statues (i.e. giving other people ideas).

Why not get on AIM and then invite people? I mean if you want to petition Dust then that's fine. But then that will probably cost money and where is this going to come from? Isn't Dust already trying to pay for phatmass as it is with everything else?

Has anyone ever clicked on the "advance options" button? I just did and it gives options like "List this room in public API" (Yes appears to be default) and "Require an ID to join the room" (although this option would make it so you have to sign up for facebook, twitter, etc., which I really have no interest in doing). You can also make is so that people cannot broadcast in the room unless the moderator allows them to.

P.S. - The last option, i.e., restricting broadcasting privileges, may require membership at tinychat.

Oh, you mean they are invading that fake url that I posted?

Geez.

These could be robots that are spamming our tinychats. Or something automated. I feel like a human person would be able to recognize that that's not a real URL. Or maybe I'm just not clear enough.
