Maggyie
Sounds like she totally trusts you on this My own poor suggestion would be "Ye Holy Angels Bright" for the recessional... that bit in the lyrics about the songs of love etc... then again that is just what I would have for my imaginary fantasy wedding... Btw, interesting video. A very dry interpretation of the piece (not much baroque stylings, improvisings, etc) but I liked the visual. From staring at it though, I'm seeing an optical illusion of my screen stretching

Alongside that, her family of 200 will be at the wedding and maybe 2 of them have attended an EF mass before, to throw it on them at my wedding could cause family feuds even. Her parents wouldn't appreciate it, mine wouldn't mind, but it wasn't worth the effort or the pain it could cause. Instead I'm talking to my celebrant and officiator to look into Ad Orientem with the Eucharistic Prayers and final blessing in Latin. We will probably use Missa De Angelus for the mass parts which = more latin. If we get a good altar boy (just for rexi), we'll have incense as well. There will be no EMOHC's and of course an organ rather than a piano which is common nowadays. The 2nd reading won't be the over used 1 Corinth 13:4, but rather the theologically rich Revelations 19:1, 5-9a which beautifully announces the symbolism of our wedding to that of the heavenly wedding. Yes 1 Corinth 13 is a good reading but I almost cringe when I hear it because of how much it is used for everything. My celebrant actually (jokingly) told me he'd have to check Canon Law to see if a wedding not using 1 Corinth 13 is valid because he's never celebrated a nuptial mass w/o the Corinthians reading! Sorry that was a bit of a rant.
Am I the only one who associates it with with ghosts and vampires? It will be in north central Wisconsin The bigger reason of not having the Missa Extraordinaria is the family thing not the servers/other preparations necessary. My celebrant would have been willing to do it, but I just found it more prudent to make sure the family is not upset or hurt by our decisions. And my wedding which I get to plan might be my only opportunity to participate in an Ad Orientem Novus Ordo with all the smells and bells . Rexi, I'm pretty sure that you would be partial to the corinthians reading if it was in the EF just for the fact that it was the EF epistle! However... Ephesians 5 was in our top two and we almost chose it Edited February 27, 2010 by Slappo

However, if you change your mind, you could always put something like this (taken from the program of a wedding I served) in your wedding program: "The Extraordinary Form of the Mass: Also, known as the Latin Mass, the Extraordinary Form was chosen by the bride and groom to celebrate their union because of their affinity and appreciation for its delicate choreography, its historical and theological significance, and its beauty and language. They have participated in the mode of worship regularly on Sundays at N. Catholic Church and it has been a key component in their relationship with God and each other. Now they wish to share the gifts of this expression of faith with their loved ones and friends. The Latin language might seem a significant barrier when first heard. However, the bride and groom has no intention to exclude or offend anyone, bur rather they with to invite everyone to witness and participate as best as possible in an occasion and ceremony so dear to them. This program and its translations have been provided to assist with this wish. The couple is certainly most grateful for everyone's understanding and willingness to pray along with them. The bride and groom also wish to express their gratitude to Pope Benedict XVI, Bishop N. and Fr. N. for the provisions that have made this special event possible"
