I wash it and brush it and consider it lucky to get that much attention since it was nearly shaved before!
My referance was to this past Sunday, when I had to get up and drive my younger brothers to a local Monestary(they serve) for 6:30 am Mass. I took a shower before I went to bed so my hair was horriably poofy when I woke. I did the best I could but (due to lack of time) straigtning it was OUT of the question. So I could either a)straigten my hair, with hair spray, ect..time -10.min with straigtner already heated OR b)brush it out as best I could and pin a couple strands up and make it to mass on time. The latter was chosen. My hair wasn't that bad, but my ego was glad to have it covered. Edited March 2, 2010 by princessgianna

sacredheartandbloodofjesus
Im gonna have to bust a freestyle to make it mad clear that if you wear a mantilla to Mass you might get a cheer but have no fear, its not as rare as it might appear When you wear your mantilla and you look kinda wacky just keep in mind that it covers up your acne So now that I laid down this freestyle fo all of yall I hope the females reading will walk, run and crawl to their closet and bust out they old laced up shawl throw it on they head start the car got to Mass and endure the looks like you from Mars. Tridenteen
JMJ I always brush my hair, and periodically pin it up before Mass. #16)If kids are staring at me, it's becasue of my veil, not my hair! #17)The boy behind me won't get inappropriate thoughts from staring at my hair, it's hidden! #18)If I hold a baby during Mass, it can't grab my hair and pull!
Quite true. And why I'll likely switch back to my headscarf instead of the mantilla once this baby is born and starts grabbing. My son doesn't usually pull at my mantilla, though there are times when he does because he's fascinated with it, and with my hair. Even though he sees me with it at least once a week, sometimes more than that.
